Bringing the total number of authorized logistics parks in Hungary to 57.

The Hungarian Ministry of National Economy announced 27th February on its official website that Hungary has added 18 new logistics parks. Following the review of submitted applications, the Council for Science, Innovation, Technology, Industry, and Logistics Parks decided to grant "Logistics Park" status to 18 logistics centers (some of which are still under construction). Additionally, the council supported the establishment of 3 new rural industrial parks and the expansion of 4 existing industrial parks. Prior to this announcement, 39 logistics centers had already obtained the official designation of logistics parks, bringing the total number of authorized logistics parks in Hungary to 57.

In 2023, the Hungarian government implemented new legislation to support investments in logistics parks. Under the new legal framework, the authorization program for logistics parks aims to establish a unified system for regulation, certification, and monitoring, facilitating more efficient investment in the logistics services industry within a coordinated framework.

As a crossroads for high-tech industries and capital from both the East and West, Hungary's role in logistics is becoming increasingly prominent. The logistics sector is a cornerstone of Hungary's economic growth, with nearly 2,500 companies operating in the field and employing 300,000 workers, supporting livelihoods for approximately 100,000 households. The logistics industry accounts for around 5% of the GDP, and the government aims to increase this share to 10%, supporting Hungary's transition to an investment and export-driven economy.
